  Tip / Rotate Stages

Below is one of our customized Tip / Tilt / Rotate Stages.  Designed to adjust Tip, Tilt and Rotate and firmly locking in position, this  model can handle loads of 150 pounds..  With a total range of +/- 5 degrees in Tip, Tilt and Rotate this stage is an example of the type of device that we can customize and produce to your specifications of load, range and precision.
This low profile Tip / Tilt / Rotate Stage measures 20 in. x 21 in. x 3 in. high
(in its lowest position -- shown at the left)

The stage provides one  adjusting screw for the height of the pivot point and one for each  of Tip and Tilt axes.  A fourth screw acts as a clamp to lock the stage in the desired  Tip / Tilt position.

The stage uses a captured ball and socket design and does not use springs for the Tip and Tilt Axes.  This permits the adjustment of very heavy loads without worry about spring constant.

In the image at the right, Tip, Tilt and Rotate the upper platform shows Tip, Tilt and Rotation with respect to the image shown above.

The image at the left shows another configuration.
A heavy duty, high precision rotary bearing defines the axis of rotation.  This bearing is made of hardened steel.
The rotation axis is adjusted with a single control as shown at the left.  An adjustable spring loaded device prevents any backlash on the rotation axis.

This model is manually operated, but motorized versions with remote control are available.
